DANCE & MOVEMENT THERAPY
Sri Aurobindo Society experimented Dance and movement therapy as a psychotherapeutic tool to improve mental wellness amongst the prison inmates. In this therapy the movement of inmates were tuned to achieve emotional, cognitive, physical, and social integration. We could notice the mind and body are connected and interrelated and the Movement was both functional and expressive. This psychotherapy method the inmates were able to have control on anxiety, depression, quality of life, cognition, ability to think and remember and interpersonal skills.
The therapy was conducted by experts in their fields and showed enormous changes in the prison inmates, the inmates experienced delight after each session and felt in connect with their inner consciousness.
